Swing dancing lessons? [25 Mar 2007|10:15am]

I'm going to be home for the summer, and I'd love to continue my swing dancing. Does anyone know of a studio where I can take swing dancing lessons? I've tried googling this, without any luck. Thanks in advance.

Salon recommendations [04 Mar 2007|02:32pm]

I've been in the area for a couple of months now and I can't put it off any longer: I have to find a place to get my hair cut. I'm looking for recommendations for good salons/hairstylists in the area. If any of you know someone/someplace in particular with a talent for women's short haircuts, that would be even better. I'm not looking to spend exorbitant amounts of money, either--no more than $30 for a shampoo/haircut/blow dry, and my pocketbook would be happier with something well under that. :-)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yin Yang Fandango and the Tango Tea Room, in conjunction with the Church of High Resolution, present…

Far Out Film Nights!

August 5, 2006: Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price 6-8 PM

WAL-MART: THE HIGH COST OF LOW PRICE is a feature length documentary that uncovers a retail giant's assault on families and American values.

The film dives into the deeply personal stories and everyday lives of families and communities struggling to fight a goliath. A working mother is forced to turn to public assistance to provide healthcare for her two small children. A Missouri family loses its business after Wal-Mart is given over $2 million to open its doors down the road. A mayor struggles to equip his first responders after Wal-Mart pulls out and relocates just outside the city limits. A community in California unites, takes on the giant, and wins!
Producer/Director Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films take you on an extraordinary journey that will change the way you think, feel -- and shop.

August 19, 2006: The Take

In the wake of Argentina's dramatic economic collapse in 2001, Latin America's most prosperous middle class finds itself in a ghost town of abandoned factories and mass unemployment. The Forja auto plant lies dormant until its former employees take action. They're part of a daring new movement of workers who are occupying bankrupt businesses and creating jobs in the ruins of the failed system.

HEY. I created a website called "CC Eats" Anyone who lives here should contribute to it. All you have to do is sign up and follow the directions. The idea is for all of us to add restaurant reviews for others, you can rate restaurants, give reviews, and other stuff.

Yes there is another show going on at Equal Eyez during the same time outside. This show is $6 though and I think the other one is more. Just make sure you tell them you are there to see this show.

new Corpus community [27 Dec 2005|09:23pm]

Hi. I've created a new community for people who like to take random pictures around town. I carry my camera with me everywhere and often feel compelled to take random pictures and share them. So, if anyone would like to join and share their pictures that'd be cool :)
